Chesnaught is meant to be a fairly bulky offensive and defensive Pokemon, so Drain Punch really fits that, and the whole longetivity thing. More than anything I just want it to get a better STAB than Hammer Arm. I don't know why they think Hammer Arm is good enough when it lowers your speed AND has a chance to miss, yet only has 100 power and 10pp. Especially when Drain Punch/Close Combat/Super Power/High Jump Kick etc. all exist.

Archeops Dragon Dancing would be funny. It's more draconic than Crawdaunt and Whiscash anyway.

I think that it was made for Origins bringing in megas. But another reason I think is backlash from fans about Y's typing. The only people that I ever see bashing Charizard X are mad cause it got two mega's.

Ledian has the punch movepool Pangoro would kill for, but lacks the stats to use it, while Pangoro has the stats that Ledian would kill for to use these punches. I am fully expecting punch tutors next game though, but still.

Also while on the subject of Ledian:

I love it when GF makes two Pokemon that are counterparts / version exclusives or somehow related to each others and then make one completely superior while they keep shitting on the other one instead of keeping the two balanced. Here are some examples:

Butterfree / Beedrill:
>Butterfree gets Compound Eyes Sleep Powder + Quiver Dance
>Beedrill gets nothing and is shit

Ariados / Ledian:
>Ledian is a specially defensive Bug/Flying Pokemon with 35 base Attack
>Ariados has a decent 90 base Attack along with lots of niche moves like Shadow Sneak, Sucker Punch, Sticky Web, Toxic Spikes, Night Shade, and Foul Play

Seviper / Zangoose:
>The two are known for their fighting
>Zangoose's both abilities make it immune to Poison, thus giving it a clear advantage
>Toxic Orb + Toxic Boost + Facade = rape
>Gets awesome moves like Close Combat and Night Slash for coverage
>Seviper is slow and has shitty bulk, no redeeming qualities

Volbeat / Illumise:
>Volbeat gets Tail Glow + Baton Pass
>Illumise gets nothing lel

Durant / Heatmor:
>Durant is fast and good nice Attack / Defense
>The destroyer of Battle Subway
>Heatmor is slow and has shitty bulk combined with a horrible defensive typing
>Outclassed by literally every Fire-type Pokemon

Feel free to add more, these were the ones that came to my mind immediately.

Although in this case, the less fortunate counterparts (Pinsir and Banette) both got mega evolutions so I suppose that balances it out.

How about Gloom getting an alternate evolution, or Arcanine having absurdly higher stats than Ninetales? They did eventually give Ninetales Drought, but still. In Gen 2, Arcanine gained Special Attack, Ninetales lost it. Or Scyther evolving and basically getting better moves and abilities than Pinsir? The Red version mons always got more love than Blue. This pissed me off as I had the Blue version. I'm so glad Mega Pinsir exists now after 6 gens of being shat on by his counterparts.

I think Clawitzer and Dragalge did this well. Dragalge gets the cool new interesting unique typing while Clawitzer remains a typical pure Water on the surface, while Clawitzer gets a ridiculous movepool of pulse moves to compliment it's ability and also makes it more interesting than other pure Waters.

Mega Evolution was the thing that also saved Mawile. Before Gen V, both Sableye and Mawile were shit. Then Sableye was given Prankster and its usage skyrocketed while Mawile remained as an obscure shitmon only remembered by waifufags.

I still think that Sableye should have gotten a Mega too.

I'm pretty sure that's the only Rock-type move that makes contact... and Barbaracle has no recovery for now, just wait for the Drain Punch tutors so it wouldn't even be that useful.

Seriously, why aren't Hydreigon's Dragon Pulses, Flamethrowers, and Bite/Fang moves hitting two extra times at 1/3 to 1/2 power each, like Parental Bond on steroids?

Energy Ball is 90 BP now, same as the other bolt/beam moves. Giga Drain exists and is fun. Leaf Blade and Petal Blizzard have shit distribution, but also have 90 BP. Power Whip is pretty good on the things that can use it, too.

Most Grass-types have a 90+ BP STAB with 85+ accuracy at their disposal. Contrast that with Rock, Dark, and even Ghost.

Moves don't work like that, you could still move relearn the attack from the previous Evo once it hit 100. A Pokemon can learn every move its pre-evo can

Try getting a level 30 Breloom to relearn Spore.

If Bagon were given Shell Smash at level 100, but its evolutions were not (which wouldn't make sense, because the whole reason that this discussion came up was because Shell Smash makes sense on Shelgon), you'd have to raise a male Bagon and a female Bagon to level 100 and then breed them before you could get the move on a Salamence.

But it DOES make sense on Clamperl, thus justifying the move for its evolved forms. Shell Smash isn't logical for the Bagon or Larvitar families until their cocoon-like middle forms, the first members of the lines with actual shells to smash.

It makes slightly more sense than Primape and Alakazam learning Iron Tail, at least.
