Returning his Sigilyph, the Black Mage called out his Kabutops. He used a Revive on the Pokemon, taking the chance offered by the lull in the action to deal with the wounded. It sounded - or rather didn't - like something was about to happen.

Moving up to the side of the trench, Mage boosted up by standing on his Kabutops' head to look over the edge and see what the noise was. If somebody else was fighting, it was probably Mike.

The two soldiers landed to either side, their pokemon jumping to the front, the first, a Pelipper, attempting to jump in front of it's trainer to take the attack. From the other side of Mike the second one landed with it's Swanna, which fired another Air slash in his direction.

Climbing out of the trench with some difficulty, really only succeeding with some help from the Kabutops below, Mage ran towards the new fight. He sent out his Electrode, "Get defenses up!" The ball began glowing as it rolled forward, Mage and Mike briefly being encased in a soft glow along with their teams. Mage's Kabutops leapt in from behind the Pelipper and its trainer, attacking the human first with its blades.
