I had to look up what middle school meant exactly.

The biggest characterization he gets is standing alone at the top of a mountain and not speaking. It makes him come across as stoic.

I think that's really reaching to tear down a character just for the sake of it. As far as story design goes, Red is the climax. Beating him brings on the credits. No writer would design such an anticlimactic scenario

You also don't seem to understand body language. Nothing about the way he stands, lifts his cap, or holds his pokeball points to shyness or fear. I think you just have a superiority complex with a dash of autism, as autistic people often do not understand body language.

I dont get N. Hes the leader of a criminal organization, but not really?
He can talk to Pokemon?
He shakes his head and gives long speeches about truth and that bullshit, while crying. So he seems to be emotional about his cause, yet hes barely around any of his Team Plasma Goons. Im not even sure how hes supposed to be their "leader"
Also isnt he a criminal since during his lead, he had some people get robbed of their Pokemon?
