Everyone only watches the anime for a single character. I don't even know how it is this came to be, although I do know it's sort of existed for a long time, but not as much as it does now. They're so obsessed the show might as well only be about that one character, whoever that may be. I just wanted to be entertained. XY has improved vastly from BW, but they not impressive. Not yet anyway. They are roughly AG right now. I do believe I am tired of this by now. It might have to be that after seeing how horrible things can possibly get, I see it everywhere now. I came to realize just how repetitive the show is and that I've seen ALL of this before. I don't know if they CAN give me something to look forward to anymore. The only thing I can think of would lead to Ash's end, and I know they would never do that. (I also want to say that I don't hate Ash, although I do think his character should've been axed long ago, especially considering what they did in BW) All I can think now is how much better fanfiction is simply because it doesn't have to follow a formula or bend to the advertiser's demands. I try to be fair, though. If Serena can't bring something new to this, then it's over. There is no reason for me to continue this.
