Technically, Ditto is always as strong as the tier around it. It is viable in every meta that isn't Hackmons.

Imposter + Choice Scarf or Quick Claw (or a Sash, if you're a faggot). It doesn't really counter anything, but it checks damn near every offensive threat with impunity.

Like for example, Talonflame/Motres are checks to Heracross because it can switch into its STAB moves, but cannot switch into Rock Slide/Stone Edge

Lati@s is a check to Garchomp because they can outspeed and OHKO with Draco Meteor but cannot switch into Outrage.

A counter is a pokemon that can switch into any of the opposing Pokemons moves, take a hit or two and proceed to OHKO it or severely cripple it.

For example Jellicent is a counter to Infernape because it can switch into Flare Blitz/Close Combat, take the Thunderpunch and OHKO with Surf or Scald.

Heres how it actually plays out.
Megamom 90% plays fakeout on the first turn.
Avalugg switches in and takes about 5% hp.
If the first move or the even the next is a PuP, it activates WP, and Mega dies from boosted Avalanche.

Happens everytime. Again, refrain from being a hypocrite and actually play the game once and a while.

I think the problem is you're hung up on this Counter thing. I never suggested it was a counter. Made a case that Ava does a good job stopping him before he gets momentum going, and WP build is able to take him out.

Theres is literally the reason I've expressed going and playing some matches. You're not following your numbers correctly, because you're neglected that the game has to actually be played.

This assumption about a +2 is where everyone keeps clamoring on. Its obvious few things are going to outlast the Khan if its at +2. You can say the same for a lot of other non-banned Mons when they've got a DD or a SD off. So, please, stop adding this into your equation.

The weakness policy damage boost is ONLY enough to get guaranteed kill on the squishiest possible Kanga only if your avalugg is Adamant and it has full damage investment.

That's it. That's the only time avalugg can get a clean OHKO on the SQUISHIEST kanga. Every other kanga survives it easily. And the thing about Max attack Adamant Avalugg is that it dies to PuP and Return every time before Avalugg can do anything.

Let me explain to you how turns work:
If you use your turn to switch a pokemon in, that pokemon doesn't do anything that turn while whatever attack the opponent hits it.

Other than that, you can temporarily try an Avalugg out. Just max the Def and HP. Use Avalanche and WP for the chance the Khan player uses PuP on the turn you Avalanche. Its worked plenty for me. Im not familiar of how you play in terms of sacrificing mons and what you use and when you switchout, etc.

Rocky helmet garchomp is decent. Even with no defense investment, it can switch in on any move besides return, deal 50% recoil damage, and threaten to outspeed and KO with EQ while "tanking" a sucker punch, +2 or not. Terrakion was also a solid check and sableye is great this meta.

People already know Prankster Sableye is a good deterrent for Mega Kanga without using up your mega slot. Immune to PuP, Return. It also takes a Crunch better. The article that bans Kanga outright mentions Sableye too. That still doesn't negate the fact that Mega Kanga's broken for OU standards.

Try it, it will kill the kangamom easily, that's what i've been using whole time.

Usually the guy switches after being toxiced/power tricked so I can knock off something. The toxic damage racks up pretty bad if the kanga mom wants to kill shuckle.

Here's what I see when I do calcs. I demonstrate it:

Megamom uses pp to shuckle which just got switched in.

The second hit is hit by the baby so it's attack is 62.5? (as the mega kanga base attack is 125) so it hits total of: 19.6% (worst case scenario)

Leftovers heal 6.25% so the shuckle has 86,65% (86,7%) HP megamom at +2att

IF megamom decides to use powerup punch again it hits

>+2 252+ Atk Kangaskhan Power-Up Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Shuckle: 20-24 (15.7 - 18.8%)

So it does 33,7% of damage (worst case scenario) and megamom is at +4

IF megamom decides to use earthquake it hits

IF megamom decides to use seismictoss it hits

Suckerpunch won't do a thing, but then mon with priority will kill it.

So yes it depends on the set, and all these examples were presented in scenario where you switch into megamom, so you take the first hit like a woman.

Mega Luke also can't even get quickbanned. Quickbans stop when Pokebank hits, and that's in a week.

Pretty good actually, but don't expect M-Garde to be an unstoppable sweeper. You will need to switch out when common priority users show up. It reminds me a lot of Charizard Y, except it needs to rely on other for speed (Base 100 isn't bad but it's not great). Can set up Calm Minds very easily on special attackers though.

Yes, Smogon mentioned it'd make a great partner for M-Gardevoir. It's not 100% reliable, but once you have the speed only priority users would stop you. Ghost, Fairy, and Psychic (Psyshock is good for special walls) is perfect coverage. It's too bad she get doesn't get Agility, then it wouldn't be a problem. Speaking of Agility M-Ampharos is also a good option. It's like Reshiram with Zekrom's typing and a way to raise it's speed with Agility.
