Hi /vp/;

Long story short, through me being an idiot I have lost my 3DS and Pokemon Y. With 170 hours played and numerous teams and... Well, its shit.

Anyway, do you think I should get a 3DS XL or a 2DS? Is the XL really worth it? I'll pretty much just be playing Pokemon on this thing, and the 2DS is around £40 cheaper.

2DS is perfectly fine. XL if you want the extra battery life. Or go Vanilla with a battery pack.

To be honest, I'm still not sold on the 2DS. It feels like it's meant for kids that don't treat expensive electronics with respect (and from what I've been told about its durability, it sounds like it's true) and parents on a tight budget.

Outside of that and the new Pokemon XY 2DS bundles, here are a couple of things I noticed...

>Sound

The first two 3DS models win this round, the 2DS only has mono sound if you're not using headphones.

>Design

It depends on whether or not you plan on traveling with it, the 3DS XL is better at that thanks to the standard clamshell design.

Oh, and here are the specs.

2DS: 127 mm high x 144 mm wide x 20.3 mm thick.

3DS (original): 74 mm high x 134 mm wide x 21 mm thick (closed).

3DS XL: 93 mm high x 156 mm wide x 22 mm thick (closed)

The battery life on 2DS is the same as the 3DS XL, the only difference is in DS gameplay (2DS has 5-9 hours instead of the 3DS XL's 6-10 hours), Sleep Mode (2DS has a Sleep switch) and Power Saving Mode (Not available on the 2DS).

I left a bag of posessions on the train because i was used to getting the train from work where i have nothing with me except my phone and wallet. I checked i had my gloves, scarf, phone and wallet, got off the train, and as soon as it pulled out I realized i'd left £500 worth of stuff in a bag on the overhead baggage compartment. I told staff immediatley, and 5 minutes later ticket inspectors on the train were looking for the bag. None of them found it, so someone must have taken it as soon as I got off the train.

I put in lost and found and rang up but nothing. So, yeah.

Also thanks for all the advice. I think i'll go for the 2ds because i rarely travel with it and will just use headphones if i want sound.
