Except catch rates are the same and several balls got nerfed and ditto catch rates no longer copy so if anything it got harder to catch pokemon this gen.

Well, I must be the luckiest son of a bitch in the world because everything I have caught has been at full HP and ball spammed within 10 or less attempts. Usually around 3 to 5 was my average.
