People forget that Charizard-Y also gets a base attack increase. I only invest 4 Evs in attack and EQ is the perfect answer to heatrans that would love to counter charizard all day.
Roost is an interesting choice, but mega-Y should not be worried about restoring his own hp. If you run roost because of stealth rocks you should just have a rapid spinner/defog user (defog preferred since it can be used against ghost types and lowers evasion for charizard to switch in and hit with fire blast)
not to mention focus blast doesn't really cover the things fire blast + EQ don't already, and the low accuracy only makes things worse for taking up a move slot. Even Air Slash would be preferred.
