What it was was that Gamefreak did a contest for the fans to release a pokemon with it's Hidden Ability. Smogon wanted Ditto (This was B/W1), and VP Did either Mudkip or Magikarp (can't remember), and Arceus was the top one from day 1, and never fluctuated.

what mon to get what highly contested but for the most part picking ditto was retarded since it should have been easily forseen that a new dream world would eventually come and unlock dittos. The ditto support was mostly a bunch of people trying to browbeat everyone into picking ditto.

We missed out on lightningrod zapdos permanently because of them going for a pokemon any idiot could see would be released on it's own given a few months.
I'm actually slightly mad about that now that i think of it

And that's why Arceus won. It was the most desirable Pokemon for the casuals and kids, while all the Smogon/4chan/etc people couldn't make up their mind about what to concentrate voting on.

Yep, even reddit was votestuffing Ditto votes with us. If theres a single entity on the net bigger than 4chan and reddit combined I dont know what it is.

It had to be rigged because not for one second did Arceus drop in rank. Maybe some page script defaulted him to plus one vote of the next best mon.

Not a single one heard of it. The only people that seemed to even know about this poll are people that desperately wanted a hidden ability on a Pokemon. The distro page also had shit like heaven artwork and Arceus references all over it.

It was rigged from the start, they just wanted to collect info on which Pokemon people wanted via DW. It was an Arceus distro that made people think they had a choice, but nobody ever did.
