Like most Pokemon, placement is everything. Switch in on something that can't do shit against Kingy, Focus Energy, then on the switch, blast them down with crit Hydro Pump, DP, or some other third thing.
Even if what's switched in gets the first shot, Kingdra's got enough bulk to survive a non super-effective shot. Just don't be an idiot and stay in if they switched to a Dragon or Fairy. That's what your other bros are for.
