On your team, how many "OU" and "UU" Pokemon do you usually have on your competitive team? Do you mix it up, or do you only use Pokemon from one tier only?

Currently there are no tiers so all pokemon that are not ubers are OU.

Last gen, I has 3 OU, 2 UU and 1 RU. Worked fine for me, and I got pretty high on the ladder (got to #72, it's my highest ranking in OU so far). But it's not like I was trying to be cool and using uncommon pokes, it just turned out that way.

I am 100:30 with a NU and 5 OUs. It's competetive, it doesn't matter how much you deviate from the standard. Only that you can make your team competetive and viable, which is to say standard pokemon shouldn't be overlooked in their respective tiers you fucking dolts.

for battle spot singles, i don't care. most japs run an entire team filled with broken shit like m-kanga, rotomw, etc. and in 3v3 i have a lot less freedom to cover all threats without using the good stuff. on my smogon OU singles team i have maybe 3 OUs

I generally pick one or two Pokémon (in this gen usually a Mega) and then build a team around it based on how well they synergize with it

One of my highest ranking teams from last gen was an Amoongus/Quagsire team which was pretty cool

My team gets wall hard by Mega Venusaur without it, and it's a BP 105 move (with STAB) vs an ordinary Elemental Punch with is only 75 BP.

The only other alternative is Fire Punch, but that's only good for Aegislash which I already have a counter for.
