>>16816859If you don't want to get the shit kicked out of you, then it needs rebuilding the team. The main things are:
-More Pokémon are viable. Cresselia, Hitmontop, Metagross, Tornadus, Abomasnow, Zapdos, Chandelure and Amoongus are the main things which are noticeably more popular in doubles (don't know about the gen 6 usage stats). Tyranitar, Scizor and Politoed are about as common, while Chansey and Ninetales are significantly less common.
-Movesets: Protect is the big one here. By default, the majority of your Pokémon should have it (or substitute if they're fast enough). There are dozens of situations in which it comes in useful. Fake Out, Follow Me and Helping Hand also gain a purpose (often a crucial one) in doubles, and priority moves (Bullet Punch, Sucker Punch, Prankster etc.) end up being very useful, while setup moves besides the occasional Quiver Dance Volcarona or Swords Dance Scizor are rare.
-Synergy: Instead of looking at your team and thinking "I have a lot of fire weakness, I'll add heatran" there's a lot of thinking about how two Pokémon work together side by side. As a quick example, Zapdos and Volcarona make a great Disquake combo. It's also easier to have a purely support Pokémon out (hence Cresselia's constantly high usage) because you still have a threatening offensive presence.
-EVs: You'll often find VGC Pokémon are given exactly the right defensive EVs to survive a common foe's attack, instead of 252/252/4 spreads. Not sure if this is necessarily doubles or just that VGC players care more though.
