It's a fact that Pokemon games are not challenging to anyone above the age of 10 or isn't mentally handicapped. The AI is simply too incompetent, healing centers everywhere, you can run from wild encounters easily, and so on.
It's a fact that the storylines in the games are very simplistic and filled with nonsense.
It's a fact that you cannot explore the regions because you're forced in a linear route and must go wherever the plot drags you.
If you enjoy that stuff, then hey, whatever. Just realize you have incredibly low standards.
