>>16821436Re-Digitize has a team working on an english patch that's making some good progress. I plan on playing it the second it's out because I was very fond of the first Digimon World game and I'd love to play one that goes back to those roots, in 3D, with a more modern roster of digimon and a deeper plot. Though, I do agree that the rotating cast is irritating. Digimon are infamous for having a ludicrous amount of branching paths that overlap with other digimon as well as multiple forms for some. I'd really love a game where I could get Holy Angemon in his Priest Mode instead of Warrior Mode.
>>16821458The sad part is, the vanity pets in WOW are now able to battle each other ala pokemon. They even have different types like critter, dragon, fire, etc. The last time I picked up WOW out of boredom I got sucked into it. You can hunt them in the wild, buy them off the market, trade them, and when you reach certain numbers caught you get special reward monsters, like a celestial drake pet that's very pretty.
>>16821424I picked up DW Monsters when I was very young, after I'd finished Pokemon Blue and grown tired of battling my friends who all sucked. I'd never played a Dragon Quest game before so the monsters were all new to me and I LOVED it. The way that you could breed two monsters of different species and end up with a third monster that was brand new was just awesome to me, and it had a HUGE roster. I loved the fact that to get the best monsters you had to find rare ones, breed them with the correct mate who was typically also pretty rare, do it again and breed those two children to get even rarer monsters. It's was fun finding out what breeding two of my favorites got me. I'm severely pissed that the DS remake of the first one wasn't released over here. I'd have played the shit out of that! I'm still hoping for a fan-translation, but no word on it yet has me not really holding my breath.
