And they basically did to all the music the same thing they did to the cries in Gen VI: Added a bunch of pointless instruments so you can barely here the original, iconic tune.

I have to agree with OP about the palette. Especially at night, the originals had a sort of gloomy, melancholy feel that the remakes just didn't capture.

The level scaling IS better than it was thanks to the new areas and a little bit of higher levelling here and there, but it's not enough. It's like you're the same level as the gym leaders, but then you fight Rocket grunts that are ten levels below you. Then, the Rocket main boss guy is the same level as you. I know important trainers should be higher levelled, but not by this much.

It didn't bother me that I had to do Bell Tower first since I always grind there before facing Falkner. And the tutorial was the exact same thing as before, except for the ridiculous bit with the running shoes.

It's still the same melody and HGSS is just more comfortable to hear.

Still not as bad as Goldenrod City and Vermilion city. They feel like completely different songs.

In the original, they said basically "there's this really rare powerful pokemon" and that's it. It had an aura of almost spooky ambiguity to it. tracking it down actually felt like a quest. You don't have to catch them to beat the game, but they'll be out there, waiting silently in the corner of that room.

In HG/SS, Lugia/Ho-Oh make a big fucking grand stand because you're the chosen one. What a quest that is. So much fucking hype, right? Gives you a lot of time to actually think about it. Who gives a shit how rare something is, if it just shows up to your front doorstep like that.

So fucking lame, and that's why every single cover legend battle post G/S/C has been fucking boring.

I along with everyone else I knew who had half a brain immediately went and caught Lugia/Ho-oh asap on our first play through, I mean they fucking tell you what the wing item is for and where to find them and lets not mention crystal version with the cover legendary mandatory event in which the HG/SS event is pretty much a adaption of just to fit into the as of then current status quo of cover legendaries. So to see you bitching about muh spooky legendary who's totally not on the cover and used to sell the games makes you sound like a fucking fedora touting autist.
