Realistically speaking, how often do you think pokemon attack people in the wild? How many would prey on unsuspecting travelers and drag them away?

Pokemon don't hunt other pokemon to survive, why would they go after people?

I would imagine it's like real life, people living near swamp in Australia know better at how to handle an alligator and if you live in a African tribe you know how to handle a lion and evil kill them

Someone in a city with dragons nearby that has trained the greatest dragon trainers and a gym leader would know how to avoid angering Dragonites

levels wouldn't exist so there's no danger if you know what to do

thanks to the pokedex you can easily look up something you don't know if you're an adventurer and whether to avoid it or not

Sharpedo attacks would be as common as shark attacks, the world isn't dangerous

Remember if you grew up in that world your mindset would be really different than if they suddenly appeared like aliens

Well real animals are mentioned in dialogue, and some Pokedex entries. Not that they don't prey on other Pokemon and humans, I'd say some species do it occasionally. But most seem to be too smart for that, at least if they aren't on human levels of intelligence (I think most are capable of reaching that though) they are way above any animals we have on Earth.

an awful lot, considering even untrained ones often have crazy powerful attacks, if it was real life it would probably be the case that people buy generic tough pokemon or weapons which they keep around to defend themselves, trainers would actually have a job that doesn't revolve around just fighting every trainer you see for money, they would be tasked with getting and raising pokemon to protect people and higher class ones would probably be hired by rich people to protect them

i always sort of had a headcanon that pokemon have the potential for human level intelligence but most wild ones dont have it, its pokemon that are raised by trainers that develop it over a period of time
