I'm going to be cool and give some reasons for my taste!
Raichu - With Pika being the mascot of the first Pokemon game I played, of course he would click with me. Even in later games, I would try to use him as much as possible. Eventually, I discovered competitive Pokemon and I tried to use Pikachu in my teams, but I got wrecked hard. As I got serious I stopped using it outside of gimmick teams, but I still liked him. After that, I took a hiatus, coming back in for gen 5. I wasn't as fond of Pikachu's new look. He wasn't fat, and that just didn't appeal to me as much. So now, I've replaced Pika with Raichu as my favorite, since I liked him as well.
Feraligatr - I skipped over gen 2, so after Yellow, I didn't play another game until Colosseum. I still watched the anime though, so I wasn't out of the loop when it came to all the new Pokemon. Totodile appealed to me straight to the start, so I came when I found out that I could get one in Colosseum. He was the MVP, and I used him again in HG. Now if only GF would release Sheer Force for it...
Ninetales - inb4furfag. Nah, I got a Vulpix plush when I was really young and I loved it so much...until one day I lost it. I used it in an game like once and that's about it, since it wasn't good competitively...until gen 5 happened. Man, I don't care if weather fucked over the metagame, back in gen 3 I used weather teams and always wanted to see them become top tier, so seeing it become viable due to one of my bros was like christmas come early.
Espeon - Used it in Colo. It could hit hard and heal. It also saw some use on some of my competitive teams, and even today it's still pretty top tier.
Snorlax - I've always liked its design, but what really shot it to bro-tier was when I used it competitively. I've pulled off many comebacks due to Snorlax. Shame it's low tier now, but I still love it.
Noctowl - Could put things to sleep in Colo and its an owl, and owls are cool.
