I want this then. I love it when non-legendaries get sent to Ubers, it's one of the greatest things a regular Pokemon can achieve. They've essentially been deemed strong enough to compete with gods. Especially a little starting route bird, that'd be significant.

Not really, they've just been deemed too strong to play with mortals. I don't think Blaziken saw all that much use in Ubers last gen.

staraptor doesn't need HJK because it already has Close Combat. If anything, Unfezant should get HJK even though it makes no sense so that it can at least have something to use with its pretty solid attack

Staraptor's HJK would outpower its CC by 120BP to 156BP. Choice Band Staraptor 2HKOs literally everything in the game after Rocks (bar, I believe, Eviolite 252/252+ Metang).

It would never be banned, for three reasons.

1. Its walled by Rotom and Aegislash.
2. It has less coverage than Talonflame, who already wrecks so much shit.
3. It's only base 100 speed.

Gale Wings is only balanced by the fact that's on a Pokemon as weak as Talonflame.

Well, no, I assumed Rotom-W - since the others never get used. But, OK, Rotom-W doesn't wall it. Remember that those calcs also mean Rotom OHKOs it after Stealth Rocks. It's a potential check.

Aegislash still walls it, but I guess that's about it.

Looking back, OK, it would would probably get suspect tested at the very least.
