Hey /vp/, scrublord here
So I have recently beaten the elite four and now I am searching for more stuff to do in Pokemans Y.

All my tries to catch a shiny magikarp went to shit, even after multiple 40+ consecutive catches nothing happened, so I'd need some help on how not to be bad at catching shinies (Tried numerous guides on the net to no avail)

Alternatively, I am trying to get into the online battle thingy. /vp/ is a board that I have never visited before and I don't know shit about pokemans, so please, give me some noob tips on how to get started with that.

I'm open to other recommendations on what to do after the game is "beaten".
