I just got a pack of pokemon cards today and when I opened it I saw this, a trapinch that is apparently a grass type, what's going on here?

Also I haven't gotten the cards since gen 1, so it may just be that bug, ground and grass were mixed just high and confused

If they could add inverse battles as a game mechanic in the vidya, then they can do the same with Delta Species.

Infact they could make it a plot point like Shadow Pokemon.

all the delta species are from a different region where some weird magnetic pulse or some shit is messing with their typing

They probably associated the color purple with poison. They used to only have it so that poison was associated with the leaf, which made more sense.
