So what I've been looking at so far is dividing Pokemon into 5+ tiers by stat total. In each tier stats are distributed pretty much the same but into each mon's respective strong points. These stats have bonuses on attacks and shit like usual but have out of game effects like ATK is physical strencht, SPD is jumpin n shit etc.
Moves are divided similarly and their base accuracy and damage are lowered to more manageable numbers and range is a factor but it is narrative gameplay so you can just say "I move back by X amount or so" where X is pretty much up the DM and the Pokemon's speed. Like, a Slowbro isn't gonna be moving from melee combat to super far range in a single turn. It's kinda inspired by Edge of the Empire (a Star Wars RPG from Fantasy Flight Games).
Intention is for you to pretty much make a dream team out of shitmon more or less and be easy on the DM for planning.
I want DM planning to be as easy as "so my players have Pokemon with 3 extra stat increases (because I'm doing away with levels in a way) so I just slap on 3 increases on these fucks and call it a day".
Souper douper beta ^
