it's a pretty good move. rock type pokemon are generally supposed to have some staying power and their lack of 100%acc moves sort of works in conjunction with this.

if you miss you should be able to take a hit. otherwise you were playing with fire to begin with.

stone edge is a good move, it is powerful enough to make up for its 4/5 hit rate

Just like in world of warcraft, you can't have both power and dexterity, you gotta sacrifice some for some.
