I'm getting Pokemon X sometime this week.

So, what should I expect? The only thing I know I'm gonna do is get a Froakie and a Talonflame.

Any tips?

Is the game particularly hard?

What should I prepare for?

One thing to remember.
Don't come here and complain about the difficulty if you used the exp share on your run.

Damn, I guess I should be surprised, the first 2 games of a new generation are always stupidly easy. Makes me wonder if I should save my money for the third game, or whatever remake they do this gen.

dont use exp share it will devalue the experiance
dont overuse the torchic you get from wifi, it will outlevel your entire team really quick
make sure you pick starter depending on what bird you wanna get in end game.
Articuno if you picked Chespin, Zapdos if you picked Fennekin and Moltres if you picked Froakie.

Oh, I thought he meant the other way round.

If you want more challenge you can also change the battle style in options to make it so you aren't given a chance to switch your pokemon when the opponent sends in a new one. Not that it matters much if you don't know half of the pokemon's types and weaknesses.
