Thoughts on pokemon black 2? I got it for christmas today as a few weeks ago I got Pokemon X and a 3ds. Is it worth the play? Or should I just take it back and get luigi's mansion or something?

Why would you play another Pokemon game? You already know what the story is....the only benefit is the pokemon you can't get in XY. I would just return it for Luigi's Mansion.

Partially feeling like I should take it back. :P The only main reasons I'd want to play it is because I haven'y played any of the games since emerald except for X now, and being able to get the Pokemon I can't get in X. But since pokebank I feel that is the only reason is because I haven't played the others.

You can nuzlocke in XY too, that's what I did with my copy.

I stand corrected though, there's really no reason to breed in gen 5 because no one uses it at the moment, so no one will battle with you, and as the other person said, most people just hack their shitmons.

You're likely to enjoy B2 if you give it a shot, OP. It'll also give you opportunity to take a shitload of Pokemon to Bank. I don't know why /vp/ suddenly turned hostile on Gen V the moment X/Y came out, but imo, B2 is one of the better games in the series and has a great selection of Pokemon.

You're only allowed to catch the first Pokemon on every route and any of your Pokemon that faint are to be released because they're "dead". It's basically a challenge run.

Probably gonna restart my W2 after I pokebank everything which is really nothing but legendaries, because I blazed thru the game with only six pokemon just to get to the pwt and then dropped it before unlocking champions tourny.

It's a custom ruleset that makes the game a little more challenging for people who think the game is too easy. The two big rules are: 1. if a Pokemon faints, it can never be used again, 2. You can only catch the first Pokemon you encounter per area.

Dunno what to tell you, I started up my B2 game today to catch a heatran so I could use it in XY, and everything seemed much slower to me, especially after you hit a monster and its hp drops.

What game were you playing?
Outside of surfing it was as slow as Diamond and Pearl. Hell, it even saved slower than D/P did.

They sped up the battles a lot.
The Pokémon didn't need three minutes to swipe across the screen at the beginning anymore.

xy is more convenient, better for competitive, and looks nicer.

i agree with the sentiment saying that bw2 are one of the best pokemon games ever made, and are imo better than xy overall.

luigi's mansion is pretty fun, tho.
