I think that they're really unnecessary considering Natures and EVs. Those alone should allow for enough variation among species. It makes the game a lot less fun and way more of a grind-fest trying to breed for them playing Bicycle Simulator 2013. I'm really glad that PokeBank lets in all the hacks

It goes completely against everything Pokemon stands for, that's how it is.

Bullshit. My platonic love for my Pokemon crosses borders to where even I question my own sanity.
I work hard on EV training, to make my Pokemon the best they can be. But then there's the little tug in the back of my mind that is /vp/ whispering "Their IVs are only average!" or "Haha oh wow anon your Pokemon sucks!".
I know I shouldn't think anything about it, but they're right. My Pokemon gets wiped out by some tryhard's perfectly bred Pokemon who they don't even love.
Answer me this: If I love my Pokemon to such an endless extent, why can't we win?

I care about my perfect team.
But I don't really think about the individual Pokemon. When I say I like Mandibuzz I like the Pokemon Mandibuzz and want the best version of it possible.
I wouldn't mind an Iv Super Trainer, though.

There are way superior ways they could have made Pokemon individual. More characteristic/personality blurbs. Size or color variations. Not numbers you can almost never see that competitive players min/max anyway, making any "individuality" moot. Getting good IVs isn't fun or engaging either. It's a tedious, boring time sink that basically involves pushing the d-pad in opposite directions for a random amount of time.

And it's funny how they keep spewing the "your Pokemon is good as long as you bond with it" nonsense when my Pokemon can be objectively worse than my friend's same Pokemon for no reason.

They became obsolete as competitive play grew and just makes unnecessary effort for make a viable team (Regardless if you are Smogonwhore or wanna use a Breedrill).

Good thing IV breeding on XY takes mostly 1-2 hours.
