>>16906192>What went wrong?Oooooh boy, where to start....
>Fighting pokemon with Gardevoir's stats, with only sp.attack/attack reversed Making him into Gardevoir's stat/concept parallel is a terrific idea...but only on paper. Shit HP + average speed and you set yourself for distaster.
>Psychic/Fighting Again, an idea that by itself looks best on paper. Medicham required god-tier ability and a Mega to become useful, all the while GF is content with pissing on Gallade's grave. Psychic could have been a decent type for a fighter... if it wasn't for the lack of moves.
>Amorphous egg group Again, marvelous concept! But also one that ensures that Gallade will be forever dependent on move tutors and will still lose a great lot of decent egg moves due to primary nature of his line.
>Movepool Vast, isn't it? Except Gallade's physical nature coupled with typing ensures that he will forever be a jack of all trades, ace of none. If it wasn't for fighting moves, he would have been inferior to Flareon.
I had some hope that Gallade still managed to preserve some niche in doubles/triples, but nothing suggests that he holds even a shred of usefulness there.
>Overall Gardevoir's superiority that will only keep improving while Gallade will continue to become weaker and weaker No reason for people to pull out a pokemon = less reason to experiment and share results.
In short, Gallade is a good concept that Gamefreak utterly failed to pull off. Worse yet, instead of trying to give him even a slight repair, they discontinued any relevant developement.
What was the point of such practice?
