Restarted my X save somewhere between the 7th and 8th gym because it was way too easy and started a nuzlocke, up to the Reflection Cave after the second gym now and the first encounter I got was a swarm of Roggenrola, one of them being a shiny.

First shiny I've ever gotten that wasn't from an event. Super stoked because fully evolved it has my favorite color scheme.

Something pretty funny happened to me. Earlier in my first playthrough in Y, I MM bred a shiny honedge at 56 eggs; my first successful MM breed. Two hours later a wild shiny male combee appeared, instead of a Raltz or something.

Didn't care that much because I got my blood-red sword but still, what the fuck.

Before? Unless you really wanted the shiny, or had the charm, it wasn't.
Now? Definitely. Even more-so if you get the shiny charm. Increases the shiny rate for MM to ~1:1000. I say worth with how easy it is to get 4/5IVs.

Hi there. I have been doing Masuda method for days and days to get a Hawlucha. I don't know if you remember me .

58 boxes and still no shiny. I have stopped for a while, since my Haw-parents reached level 100, and it's a nice mark to stop for the moment.

It's depressing. Everybody getting their shinies in 200 pokemon, and I'm without a shiny with 1740 pokemon.

I will post the images of the parents, so you can see if they have something wrong...

I thought it was released?

As I understand it, the only starters that don't have their official HA released is Gens 5 and 6.

I could be wrong, and the Totadile event may have been Japan only or something, I dont know.

Shiny Charm is confirmed, and I believe you need to catch every pokemon excluding event legendaries. I was hoping to get it before I started MMing again, but since Pokebank is delayed, guess back to MMing without it for me.

Mine is Sap Sipper. It makes switching into grass types amazing, and MegaVenasuar couldn't be any less of a threat. Nobody expects Sap Sipper.

I even have Earthquake on mine, as it actually does reasonable damage after the boost from Sap Sipper.

Sure it's very situational, but I prefer unpredictable movesets anyway. Thats why I also run a physical Greninja.

Hmm I still can't access the eshop to download pokebank, so that's annoying. Caught a few shinies since last hunt, got a few Pokemon from others that had the bank, but I'm nor sure what to hunt. i'm still annoyed at the bank letting more obvious genned Pokemon through. Crazy examples in include special Pokemon in balls they could never have been caught in and Pokemon knowing moves they could never learn. I thought they would at least try. People want to point fingers at instacheck ruining shiny values, well hold on to your seats because the bank is going to do worse

It's actually really comfy to hold in your hands and wide enough to not feel like your hands are overlapping. The bottom ends rest on my palms and I can still reach the controls without strain.
It's kind of like holding a gameboy color without the inferior graphics. It sucks carrying around tho since it doesn't fit in normal pockets.

Personally I'm holding off my MM projects until we get pokebank and I can transfer over what I need to complete my dex for the shiny charm. Already got everything ready except for Groudon and Latios, so I'm currently finishing my copy of ruby to get those.

You see, in the english language, the or operator allows you to pick one of the options. So if the others are unavailable, then they are easily removed from the sentence without losing the meaning. In this case, you'd remove chain, leaving FS or breeding

Well shiny charm was here last generation too, and it gives you a solid reward for actually completing the dex as opposed to older games which more or less were just like "Grats".

I never did it last gen but after finishing the local dex in kalos I found getting the rest of what I needed from friend safaris/pulling things together onto my Gen V game for transfer to be a lot easier than expected.

Yeah, the reason I'm not fond of it is because they already made enough of a claim for the standard sites serebii confirmed, etc to imply that the general encounter rate is already by default lowered to what the shiny charm did last gen. Now with the shiny charm on top of that reduction, standard encounter rates would be something like 1/2048. Then with masuda increasing the rate by 6 times as of last gen, you'd see the rate around 3/1024, or closer to 1/341. At that point, you might as well just make shinies just a general colorswap pallet like flababe's different forms.
I assume that this isn't the case of course, because those odds seem so low it hurts, but that's all I can assume until there's an official statement about the odds

For me doubling the rate with something that requires considerable effort like completing the dex is pretty okay especially when compared to how MM increases it by so much more, though maybe they just shouldn't have doubled the rate for normal shiny encounters this gen to start with. Personally I'm more iffy about how common the rates are in friend safaris, I love each of my chained/MMed shinies but with half a box full of friend safari shinies I have no use for I feel like maybe they made that a little too easy.

That's kinda what I means about maybe they shouldn't have doubled the rate normally in XY. I enjoy the idea of working for it and being rewarded with the shiny charm, so I'm happier with that than with the passive doubled rate in XY.

ever since yellow, when we started off with a Pokemon different then the ones handed out, I've had the idea that a game that lets us choose our starter Pokemon. I'm not talking about choosing between three starter types, I'm talking about choosing any Pokemon from any game barring legendary. In the anime from season 1 there have been people that have Pokemon and didn't get them from a professor. I want that, and I don't think it would make a game easier or harder, because you'll still be starting out with a lvl five that will have just as many strengths and weaknesses as any other starter.

Oh yeah no event legendaries, forgot that. You still need the box legends just not like Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys etc. Shiny charm is definitely catch not just seen like the oval charm though

I couldn't get a very good picture but here's one.

Compared to his old shiny sprites, his body is darker, and his inner ears are a magenta-y color. His tail and feet are pink-ish too. I am very pleased with it.

Eggs are already determined as soon as you pick them up, so no. You cant reset because the eggs will hatch the same every time.

About 20 people asking for shinies, and about 25 actual shinies to give out. Would have been more, but some of them needed to be transferred via Bank, which probably won't be ready in time.

Sadly it seems there wont be enough shinies for everybody. We'll see how it goes.

According to the pokedex, I hatched a shiny Tynamo, and either traded or released it. They look even more identical than in B/W. And I've hatched 10 boxes of them.

I got all of the Pokemon Adventures volumes that have come out since my birthday in early June. I think this is the first year I didn't get pokemon cards, though I have most everything I need there.
