They won't brick shit after any update - why would an update to Bank affect XY? Hacks that are already in the game don't do anything, and they will continue to not do anything, even if bank miraculously stops new ones from coming in, which it won't.
My original point was that Nintendo Network is down everywhere and Bank can't be released until they get their servers under control. One whole day of usage (barely, because of the server issues) isn't enough to warrant taking it down and updating it.
