5 perfect IVs in relevant stats are fine with me. You make it sounds like their servers are crappy. They aren't. Christmas time is hard for everyone, you have a massive MASSIVE amount of people all trying to use the same services simultaneously. They've had to completely guess on this sort of thing, there's no way to test how sturdy your implementation is, because there's no way to get that many people simultaneously trying to use it until it people are actually trying to use it. The services that come out and DON'T have problems are the exceptions, pretty much anything that has to suddenly deal with a large influx of people is going to have problems, whether they directly affect the users or not is just bad luck.

Point is, when a service has to suddenly deal with a massive onslaught of users, shit goes to hell more often than not. Just look at Steam right now.
