Ok awesome. I have about 30 shinies for the giveaway, and nearly that many people who want shinies, but that'll obviously change by tonight.

It's actually slightly annoying, because I'm predicting that there will be like an 85% chance of winning (based of the ratio of shinies i'm predicting), so it's going to suck hard for the few people that end up not getting anything.

Oh well, I'm honestly doing the best I can do. I even took out one of the shinies in my own team for this giveaway.

Shinies are completely worthless now, they're very easy to find.
I'm getting 6IVs shinies from ordinary trades on GTS, it's good and bad at same time.

Is the female also a Hawlucha? if not, it's 70% per an amount of step (it changes each gen I think) for getting an egg. Otherwise it's 50%. Faster if you have the Oval Charm.

It depends on how many boxes you plan on filling per day. 3 boxes daily is good.

Eggs also hatch at different speeds, depending on the Pokemon too, just so you know.

If your male Hawlucha has the FRE or similar tag in his summary, it should be fine. I think only the language matters though.

A Japanese player who's playing X/Y in english will have pokemon with ENG instead of JPN for example.

I found the range of 40-50 pretty easy. I kept saying that I would just start resetting after 40, but no shiny patch after a few resets so I decided to chain to 60 to try and make sure the shiny had 3 ivs, because why not, and I could have sworn there was nothing wrong with the patch I walked into...

Smogon isn't bad if you just want an understanding of how a Pokemon works, but avoid copypasting a moveset so to speak. Try switching one up to fit in a team, so that it balances out weaknesses from specific threats.

Alternatively, do what I did with my Shiny Goodra, and build it to specifically counter a threat that your team has troubles with.

My team sucked in the sun, and MegaZardY was giving me serious problems, and I just realized a day or two ago that my Goodra is perfect to counter it.

I would use a Trick Room team for that little guy. He absolutely needs it. If your raising it to be a Flygon, I would use a Smogon moveset since I don't know any unique sets it can run.

I don't. But many people in my community are hardcore shiny hunters who frown upon something higher than the original 1/8192 (or 1/4096 in 6th gen) percentage, and refuse to use other methods for something else than experimentation.

There's a part of me that isn't sure the Protean Nature for Greninja is even worth it for this shiny. I'd really only get it to abuse Ice Beam, other than that I'm still running Hydro Pump and Dark Pulse. Might just call it a day and make this thing a Sub-Berry Torrent variant.

The best out of the three is a Timid with 4 IVs in HP, Attack (unfortunately), Special Defense, and Speed. On the plus side, its Special Attack might be close to 30 still.

Yeah, I was hatching with what I thought was my 5 IV'd Ditto with a Japanese Froakie, turned out the Ditto only had 4 IVs, and it was a Special Attack IV that was missing.

what are you talking about? You'll be lucky to get 2 a chain because once you get a shiny after 40 your chain resets even if it doesn't break. I've heard of people reset for hours and not get another one. The only other thing is your asking people to all chain at once which, your mileage may vary in how well you chain

yes your chances max out around 40 at 1/200. After that the only thing about continuing your chain that's good would be improved IVs where the guarantee caps at 60 for 3 perfect. Of course your shiny may have more, but at a chain of 60 it will at least have three.

I think a toddler hold the ds upside down and blindfolded could probably battle better than me. I have maybe a handful of properly trained Pokemon and they are RU tiered at best, anyone that gets me as a partner in a multi battle will lose.
