Ninty e-shop was kill. Nintendo obviously didnt foresee every kid and their frankerz to go online with their 3DS at the same time on christmas, so their servers got thoroughly ravaged. Pokebank is being delayed until further notice. Expect it later in the weekend.

Why can't we just download Pokebank ourselves and put it on our SD cards? They could have just uploaded a torrent for the users who are capable.

(I know nothing about how the shop works, but I really don't understand why this couldn't have worked. It seems in theory easy to put in practice.)
