Can someone explain the mechanics of Klutz + switcharoo with ass vest or choice scarf? I am profoundly retarded, even after reading it on bulbapedia and a few forum posts that i googled I still do not understand. What's the point of switcharoo-ing?

Klutz+switcharoo just means you can swap items with your opponent without having to deal with the detrimental effects of your own item...so you are free to pass off a shitty item or restricting item (scarf and assault vest fuck over support+ certain defensive tanks)

Take for instance poison stall gliscor. He is completely fucked if you switch either of these items onto him.

Only downside is most lopunnys run this setup and it can be blocked with mega pokemon so a good player will predict.

Klutz won't affect Lopunny from its own item, so one thats holding a choice scarf won't be restricted to one move or won't be burned if holding a flame orb.

Because the whole point is you're NOT using the item for yourself, you're passing it onto some other pokemon so that they have to deal with a drawback that they were not prepared for.

A rotom with a choice item is prepared to deal with the move-lock, but a staller that relies on status moves would be completely fucked if you switched a vest with their leftovers.

So you aren't forced to Trick you item at the wrong moment. Also, it protects you from eventual negative effects of the opponent's item.

You don't. That's just a small bonus for running klutz, I've found numerous occasions where my own trick or switcharoo mon doesn't want to commit to the item swap right away and if I was planning to pass a scarf I have the difficult choice of commiting to something else or just passing scarf anyway. AV won't let you use switcharoo / trick without klutz at all due to the nature of the item.

Only with Klutz, because Klutz completely ignores ANY effect that a hold item would have. You could take a Toxic Orb, and just sit there for turns on end, and you'd never get poisoned yourself. Then *switch*, and boom suddenly it's a god damn toxic spill all over

Just pick the punch that your team already has good coverage for and make that one go away. Lopunny's 76 atk base stat can't do much with them anyway.

Even hitting for 4x damage with those punches you would still need a full atk investiment to get a 2KHO.
3~4 support moves are much better.

Not too sure about that. with the right EVs/IVs/Nature, it does have the potential to one it KO, but that is when only using return or other base 100 power moves.
Personally, physicl set makes for gimmicky fun to avoid being booboo keys taunt bait.
