Breeding, battling, the post-game quests, the battle challenges, all the little aesthetic things like PR Videos, customizing your trainer... I did all of it after the campaign was done.

This, you can't fully enjoy all things of the game if you don't finish the campaign everytime.

This, so much. Even when I took my time after the first couple of routes, I still finished in 35 hours and a few days. I was so gutted when I finished it though, I loved it from start to finish.

Pokémon will always be a ridiculous game to beat, so what kind of glory is there after you finish it in 1 or 2 days? Was your money well spent?

There's a minimum need to appreciate the storyline, otherwise we could only play Showdown instead

I got the game the day it was released, and it took me a month and a half before I finished the main story.

Why, you might ask?
>Have school
>Have work
>Have volunteering
>Have other stuff I want to do besides Pokemon when I have free time, like hang out with people
>Try to capture every single Pokemon I possibly can
>Go out of my way to pick up every single item
>Go out of my way to battle every single trainer
>Go into every building and talk to every NPC

To answer OP's question, I'm an enjoyer. Takes me forever before I'm able to do the competitive post-game stuff, but the journey there is fun!

BW is my favorite game because it had the best plot in the series, so yeah, I like playing by the plot, it makes the game much more enjoyable.
XY are pretty lame in that regard, but not horrible.

We're alike. I can't fully dedicate my life to Pokémon, but it's one of my favourite games of all time. I also tried to gather every item, battle every trainer, talk to every NPC — explore the whole region.

I do enjoy competitive play, but never rushed the game to get to it. It's not like Pokémon is going to vanish after a couple of months. C'mon, I played Crystal for fucking 10 years or so in my Game Boy.

Now that the campaign is finished, I can surely tell that this is my favourite Pokémon game from all time.

Well, I stopped completely once I hit the day care and spent about four days breeding for a shiny Furfrou to use in my team.
Then I finished the rest in about a week. I accidentally missed the whole Skiddo farm when I first went through, though.
