Yeah, that's pretty unlucky, since I haven't used a single repel, ever, and ev train in the wild.
But at least I can fish for shinies. And once pokebank is up I'll get my old 10 legit shiny bros from older game with me again.

Well since we're on the subject, kind of, I was wondering how long it would take to get a shiny using the masuda method, if I were to be going for it 3-4 hours a day?

I've bred up about three competitive teams worth of IV ideal Pokemon. I've acquired 5 out of the 6 shinies I've encountered, never fish chaining because who has time for chaining? At this point I'm just waiting for the Bank to open so I can transfer everything over and complete the National Dex.

I should note that all my shinies were encountered in the wild. I don't bother actually trying to get shinies. It strikes me as a waste of time and effort when an ideal 5 or 6 IV Pokemon tends to have just as much, if not more, value on the trading market.
