>>16985007I have to agree with this. While red and blue were the first pokemon games I played and they do hold a special place in my heart, they just don't hold up against the others. A lot of it has to do with what they lack compared to the newer games, not being able to delete an HM is a pain in the ass. Additionally, the inability to breed pokemon is annoying if you want to complete the pokedex (God Dammit Eevee!) Additionally, the game is shorter than all the other games, except maybe for gen 2, though the aftergame helps. Speaking of aftergame, there is none. You can complete the pokedex and Face the E4 again, that's it. You can't reface any trainers, you don't unlock any new towns or hidden areas except for the one cave Mewtwo is in, and after you catch it, what else is there to do? Reface the E4 10 times?
Don't get me wrong they are great games, but they are just dated compared to the newer ones.
