I was expecting it to have a wider hip and more pronounced legs to help establish the look it has a balanced base since it is Bipedal now. I agree with your point about Typhlosion, it is indeed a fire type, but it is not "made of fire" so i agree that it should only "erupt" when in battle.
As for water types, some prob should, there are water types that appear to be actually made of water or congealed fluid of sorts, and when on land, leaking would actually be quite cool.
As for dark, don't be a moron, dark means underhanded or "dirty tricks" not evil or literal darkness.
