When every team is comprised of 6 members of a pool of 20 or so, the game gets extremely repetitive and dull. You see the same old shit build the same way with the same moves using the same strategies. There's no excuse for that in a game with over 700 critters to choose from. Or rather there shouldn't be.

You also have to weigh the satisfaction of winning with what everyone has decided is the best way to win, with the satisfaction of winning with your own designs.

What the fuck is this shit? I started asking for Vacuum Wave Riolu a few weeks back and nobody had any, and most people asked me why I was bothering when physical Mega/LO Lucario were better. I make my special Mega Lucario that everyone told me wouldn't work and it is just ok. It works well when, and only when, given the opportunity to set up.

But now my foolish idea is "uncounterable" and "suspect for ubers". Fuck the competitive community. It's fine.

I do, to what extents I can. I've been using the same Gyarados build I designed myself since 4th gen, though I've added the mega stone this gen. I'm amazed it's tiered as low as it is.

However, when I try to force a whole Pokemon who is not bog standard into the by-default OU world of random matchmaking, it works a few times or not at all. Delphox, Vanniluxe, Golurk, Krookodile, Sceptile... I've tried to make them all work, and sometimes they do, but there's a reason OU is OU, it's too difficult to compete with them.

The secret to my success against it was Noivern, who could outrun non-Mega, hit through Sub, and with no defensive investment tank a Shadow Ball and OHKO.

He was by no means some counter I devised for it, I just always used Noivern and it turns out Gengar can't do shit to it.
