- Play your 3DS in an extremely brightly lit room, preferably during the day with windows for added light
- Have a white/very light colored wall behind you
- Sit in a way where your arms/hands holding the 3DS are secure and won't shift minutely, since even tiny twitches can upset the app and make it not recognize your expression
