7/10, R/S had no post-game beyond Battle Tower, but Emerald made up for it with the glorious Battle Frontier. Oh and I guess there was a Steven battle but it was pretty lame.

7/10, a lot of creative mons like Zangoose-Seviper rivalry, or Shedinja. Legendary golems had pretty interesting lore and Groudon/Kyogre brought auto-weather to the series. It loses some points though because from a competitive perspective, very few mons have stayed relevant and even at the time not a lot of Hoenn mons were used

6/10, Emerald sort of remedied some of it with Battle Frontier and catching both Groudon and Kyogre, but compared to Platinum and BW2, the post-game content is nonexistant. If we get remakes, this'll probably be rememdied.

Good Gen overall, but it did have the problem of needing the Gen I reboots in order to catch 'em all.

Quite a bit to do in Emerald's. I got addicted to the Battle Frontier and contests.

It's my favorite gen and I love how the pokemon aren't too over or underdesigned. This gen even came out with some of my favorite pokemon (manectric, swampert, cacturne, banette, etc).

Gen 3 was the best gen. Gen 1 remakes to appease the nostalgiafags, RSE were incredibly innovative and were well-made, and Colosseum/Gale of Darkness were beautiful additions to the series.

Teams Aqua and Magma were shit though.

What annoys me about Gen III is the hoennbabies. It was the first Pokemon game of many kids who are now discussing Pokemon here in /vp/, and they can't logic because of nostalgia.

new pokemon: 7/10, really nice designs imo but incredibly divided competitively - the few that were good in back in 386 play get gimped harder and harder as the gens go by (ninjask, swampert, salamence, lati@s, jirachi, fucking metagross) but a shitload of former nu pokes got new leases on life with hidden abilities and mega evos throughout gen 5 and 6 (manetric, mawile, sableye, aggron, medicham, crawdaunt, kecleon, absol, etc)

i don't think you're gonna gauge why people hate gen 3 through those 4 points alone op - i mean, my main complaint about gen 3 was that there was so much fucking water (and also that the font and overworld npc sprites looked like shit until frlg)
