No, she mentions being a Ghost trainer. The same way Lance mentions being a Dragon trainer when the most common type on his team is Flying. There weren't very many options for those two types before Gen III.

All leaders/E4 should be more like Flint.

Or more precisely more like Round 2 Gym Leader Castle, with a couple of mon of their signature type, then others to counter their weaknesses.

Because only Ghost moves in Gen 1 are Lick and Night Shade. Lick was the more iconic one.

Dark has no excuse other than keeping a balance between Phys and Special, they should have just switched Ghost to special that gen and made Dark Physical or something.

In what fucking universe?

My favorite gym of all time was/is Giovanni, closely followed by Skyla/Winnowa.

Despite being mono typed their teams felt much more diverse than the usual stuff.

Seriously, Game Freak? I didn't actually know about the meaning of physical and special attacks until Diamond and Pearl made it obvious (never owned a game at that point, more focused on the cards for the first 3 generations).
