>>17028819Well, you'd be able to do most of it without a GBA. Start up a Hoenn game, pick a starter, catch six shitmon, save, never touch it again. I'm pretty sure all gen 3 pokes have been made available.
4th gen, You'll have to complete Platinum, HG, SS. You'll need partial progress in Diamond and Pearl for a few odd pokes and the starters, but nothing too drastic. HGSS give you a Hoenn starter, so pick the two that aren't on your gen 3 game. At this point you should have gen 2, 3, 4 starters, all legends except the Regis, and every gen 2 and 4 Pokemon through collecting and trading with yourself. HGSS is where you get all 28 of the Unown and Plat is where you get both Shellos/Gastrodon.
5th gen, getting the gen 5 starters is simple enough. I think you can even skip BW entirely and go on to BW2. BW2 has a TON of past legends, but the only ones you need are the Regis. You'll need to complete both games to get all four. 5th gen is also where you can get all forms up to this point that I didn't specifically mention earlier. Sawsbuck, Deerling, Basculin, Burmy, Wormadam, Rotom, and a few others I don't remember.
5th gen also requires Pokemon Dream Radar to get the Therian forms of the genie trio.
Aaand here comes 6th gen. You'll need both versions in order to get all 3 legends. A couple forms are hard to find (especially white Flabebe and Super Pumpkaboo) but anything introduced in gen 6 is available, as well as (FINALLY) all 3 Kanto starters.
