>>17028836>Why not your Kanto starter?Because I would rather play with the new Kalos starters. It would also be rather redundant to have two grass/fire/water starters on the team. I always aimed to get all three starters on my team anyway, ever since Pokemon Yellow gave them away for free.

1) I find the starters awesome/cute as they are. No evolution required.
2) Th games are easy enough as they are. Why not add some challenge?
3) I love feeling like an underdog. There's nothing more awesome than seeing my Pikachu or Fennekin take out a hulking Pokemon many times its size (such as a Garados). Beating the Champion is always such an awesome achievement because of this.
If this all seems nonsensical, don't fear. I still have my X game to beat, where I have a completely evolved team to plow through the game.
