Hey guys, I tried to ask last time but I didn't really get a clear answer. Is it possible to hatch a shiny phione via masuda method? Or will it always give me an egg with a different shiny value? Even though phione isn't the best, I love it.

Only about 8. But I'm doing them in big patches (collecting 3 boxes of eggs at a time and going to Lumoise city to hatch them all) so it feels longer that it actually is.

Why? It's not as good as the 5IV one I hatched like 12 eggs later. If I'm playing online, I'd be better off with a 5IV one as opposed to an inferior 3IV one that's a simple pallet swap.

How small are the odds of getting a shiny with 6iv and a good nature, all in the same egg? Is it more worth to try to complete the National Dex and get the thing so that shiny chance increases?

the closest I got to a perfect shiny was a 5IV with the last stat being a 29. I'm not great with math but I think its something like: 0.001%

Like I said in my previous post, I'd only take a competitive shiny for it. 4IV's are fine as long as the Pokemon doesn't need that particular IV. Example being Karrablast, or Shuckle not needing speed IV's or Sp.Att IV's.

I've had a thought. What happens to the Porygon that get released?
They're artificial, so I doubt they can survive in the wild. Does releasing them just delete them, or are they set free on to the internet?

Shiny Froakie acquired. I couldn't keep all of 'em in order to keep track of the numbers. I did keep all of the Protean females though. Doing some math, it looks like I've hatched somewhere in the ballpark of 2,200 Froakie. It has the right IVs and Protean, so I'm finally done!

I've tossed the female protean rejects with less useful IVs, but have a bunch of 5IVs available. If there is any interest, I'll give away a few here-- a 4IV or 5IV breeding reject (especially female) would be appreciated, but isn't required.

I've had it lucky with almost every method I've ever tried with shinies, even random encounters... except freaking masuada method. I swear I was 12 boxes in for just a simple honedge... nothing, cleared all the boxes and tried again, gave up after six. I'm even using a shiny Japanese ditto, no luck! Now I"m trying again for a shiny feebas, I hope the new year is going to bring me new luck, I'm already two boxes in...

Friend Safari has given me three shinies in the past two days, when I'd never had a shiny before. Granted, they only have like 2-3 IV's, but I'm happy with them. It doesn't take all that long, either. Riding around in a friend safari for 2 hours or so while I watch tv seems to get me a shiny pretty consistently.

yeah the recent patch has apparently dealt with a lot of issues regarding monochrome, but I don't know if it has completely solved it. the best thing to do if you get one is to either release it, or save your game and turn it off for awhile

You're mistaken. That's the old odds, where masuda method was 6 times higher than the normal rate of 1/8192. Rates for this gen have been noted to be 1/4096, so assuming masuda keeps the same *6 rate, the odds are closer to 1/683
