Okay. I scored myself a Cottonee and I'm trying to work my way up to a Latias. Anyone have any suggestions for escaping Bankmon Poverty?

From my experience, try to get a Raikou. They and the other two to a lesser extent are like gateway trades to the big stuff, so once you get to that point it just comes down to hard lurking and chain trading for things.
