I may seem like I'm playing the devil's advocate here, but I think the release of Pokebank is a bad idea.
Don't get me wrong, being able to transfer your older Pokemon from previous generations is a great idea, but what ruins it from me is the massive number of modded/cloned Pokemon that will be entering the game.
"fuck u op u shudent b tellin ppl how tehy shud play da gaem11!1"
An influx of illegitimate Pokemon severely decreases the value of those that were obtained legitimately; the Pokemon that actually meant something now become meaningless, because 12-year-olds with Action Replays will be spending their free month of access to fill Gen 6 with shiny Arceus and Wondertombs. It's bad enough that people are already cloning Pokemon in X and Y, but with cheating becoming so easy to do, everything you've ever worked for to this point now becomes worthless.
Even if you may have worked to achieve goals up to that point, things won't ever be the same way from then on. There is already a pretty big number of cloned Pokemon in X and Y, so value is free falling, the only thing holding purpose in the game is that not everyone has access to the ability to transfer the Pokemon........ yet.
Once you defeat the Elite Four, there are only a few things left in the game to do. Complete Pokedex, collect rare Pokemon, and/or try to become the best trainer you can be. Once the flood of shitty modded 'Mons come into the game, rare Pokemon are all-for-naught, with strong Pokemon being just as worthless. Good luck trying to battle someone who doesn't have a team of Shiny Arceus with 999 in all stats.
You'll transfer your Pokemon over from your previous gens, Dex is complete, and there's nothing else to do. Game over.
