Breeding with 6 IV Ditto

Yesterday I tried to make a 6IV Gastly, but after nearly 2 hours, I only have a 5 IV Gastly...its impossible to make it 6IV breeding with a 6IV Ditto, what i'm doing wrong?

Try shoving the Ghastly with the highest IVs into the daycare with the ditto.
The thing is, it pulls 5 from EITHER pokemon, so if you've got the 6iv ditto, and a 0iv ghastly, there's a chance you could still very well end up with another 0iv ghastly. Put one of the 5iv Ghastly's in with the 6iv ditto, and that should get you what you're looking for.

The thing is, the destiny knot only allows the baby to inherit up to FIVE IVs from either parent, meaning that while 5 IVs will be perfect due to being inherited, the last one will be random, and unless you luck out and the baby gets a natural perfect IV in that, 5 perfect IVs is what you should expect.

Sounds about right, but good luck getting a natural perfect IV on the stat that isn't inherited. You're better off deciding what stat you don't really need and use a 5 IV pokemon.

Not as far as I know of. However, I normally use destiny knot + everstone to make sure the nature gets passed down.

Personally I find Power Items still have a purpose if you're just starting breeding and both your parents just have 2 perfect IVs, and you want one specific stat to pass down to the parent. 99% of the time, Knot is better though.
