>>17080729I totally agree, Lucario and Blaziken were blatant pandering. I think they even subtlely admitted it, because they're the two megas EVERYONE is almost guaranteed to have if they got the game before the fifteenth.
Cuz hey, if you're gonna give players an OP toy, may as well ensure EVERYONE has it.
I'm sure in the future they'll add megas to things like the other Hoenn starters, and maybe even some truly weak pokemon.
Also, some of the megas are interesting, such as Garchomp and Gyarados. I would normally say they didn't need a mega, but the way their megas work, as more like "mode change" than "power-up," gives them a unique feel.
Then again I haven't used them much, mostly been spending my time working with weaker mons like Whimsicott to make them viable.
