Has anyone else noticed Pokemons writing becoming closer to the mother series? Like the writing becoming more off beat, focusing more on humor?

I've noticed especially in the gen5 whole, "we're dancing for no reason" barrier.

Come on, Mother 3 was pretty serious but it had a lot of comic stuff in between.
It's much more serious than pokemon, and it's much more comic at the same time.
