i played without exp share
the game was actually quite challenging and i blacked out a fair number of times and came back for revenge
it was a lot of fun

when i beat the champion i turned it on practically permanently, for le wow and ev training and stuff

I really don't see why would you the EXP share even make a difference, with how exp points work this gen you can just shuffle your entire party on a single pokemon and it gives full exp to each mon

or get a sweet scent poke and grind hordes, and nuzlocke is not an excuse to not get sweet scent, you get plenty of chances for pokemon and bulbasaur learns it by level

I'm not him, but you have not played with the exp share off, so fuck off. You'll be around level 55 at the champion if you trained a full team of 6 from the start, I was level 51-54 and the game was challenging, and I loved it.
The only time I blacked out was against Diantha because my Barbaracle (last remaining mon) who shell smashed against her mega Gardevoir missed his rock slide. I had a no items in battle rule too, and battle style to set.

He had time to play through the game because Exp share is part of the game. There's absolutely nothing wrong with using something in the game to play the game.

I dealt with exp share by just raising about a dozen Pokemon during the story. Just box your highest 2-3 mons at each new Pokemon center and replace them with something low leveled. Cycle your mons like this and you won't be over leveled, but also won't have to senselessly throw away exp. It was nice to finally play a Pokemon game with some options for my team.
