I actually really like megapinsir for being what I really want from a temporary transformation
A lot of the megas look good independently, but they would fit so much better as evolutions since they grow appendages and stuff. Mega Mawile and the like would be great as real evolutions. Pinsir is just the right amount for a mega.
You can imagine Pinsir going all >HENSHIN up on that shit. It opens its eyes for them to glow yellow, its spikes sharpen, and then it opens up its back like some sort of transformer. Wings pop out and now it's charging at you full on burst mode with aerialate quick attack. You can envision this shit without the necessity of coming out of a glowing sphere or anything like that, because it really isn't a true evolution. And despite the subtle transformation, it's still pretty terrifying.
Thematically speaking, I like it the best. Otherwise, I'm really fond of what they did with Absol because the appearance gives it more justification for me using it as a mixed sweeper with stuff like Fire Blast. I've always been impartial to angelic designs like that.
